Previous Workshops

PersDB 2011 would represent the continuation of a series of four previous workshops. The more recent three PersDB instances were held in conjunction with the International Conferences on Very Large Databases (VLDB) 2010, 2009, and 2008 (see PersDB 2010, PersDB 2009, and PersDB 2008, respectively). The first workshop in the series, PersDL 2007, was held in conjunction with the 11th International Conference on User Modeling (UM 2007) and focused on similar topics, but from the perspective of Digital Libraries. Over the years, the list of topics covered in the workshop got expanded in response to emerging research directions. Most importantly, online social networks have established themselves as an important source of new research topics. All previous workshops attracted between 20 and 30 participants and generated lively discussions among the participants.
